I have been playing with my iPhone for about a couple of days now and I love it. It's extremely user friendly and the touch screen is pure magic. I was wizzing around the phone in a matter of seconds. The interface overall is very cool. It has great transitions and works as smoothly as they show in the commercials. The gripe that I have is that it's takes a few steps to get to the phone book app because there is no dedicated phone key. Also, it's harder to get to a contact in the address book because there is no keyboard and search function. Speaking of the keyboard, it's actually not too bad. It's easier to use than expected but it does require a learning curve.
Overall, the iPhone is everything I expected it to be.

Here it is. My iPhone, unboxed. I waited in line for about 4 hours or so today. They only let a few people into the AT&T store at a time. I was about 10th or 11th in line and this store only had 10 8GB iPhones so I was in just the right place in line. I paid for the phone and the they put it in a special iPhone bag that sealed itself. They told me not to open the bag until I left the store. Here are the pics.

I am going to start compiling a list of companies that have provided me with excellent customer service recently. I believe they deserve props. It seems that companies are taking pride in their customer service again, and it's a great trend, I just hope it stays.
MicroCenter: I had a broken part on my MacBook Pro charger (1+ years old) and I took it in to Micro Center and without even checking up on my replacement plan, they let me walk out of the store with a brand new $80 charger. No questions asked. They also took back some software recently that I had opened, even though they weren't supposed to. Thanks MicroCenter!
Sprint: Believe it or not, Sprint has really kicked up their customer service recently. I remember back in the day when you call Sprint for customer service and you have to wait for like 30 minutes to 2 hours just to talk to someone. Then the connection would cut out and you would have start all over again. Those days are long gone! The past few times I have called customer service, I would get a rep on the phone within about 10 secs of being on hold. The rep I talked to today was super-nice and was able to handle everything I could throw at her. I will now be getting a brand new Treo 755P in the mail for a small sum of $100. And that's without renewing my two-year contract!

Wow, this guy is insane. He creates art with his Etch-A-Sketch that is beyond anything I thought would be possible. There is a great video of him creating LaBron James. Check it out here.

Haha, this is funny. It's a size comparison chart comparing the iPhone with Graham Crackers and other fun things. Can't wait to get my iPhone this Friday!!!

This post doesn't really have anything to do with design, but is still cool. SSi makes industrial shredders and has a great website with tons of video demonstrating their shredding capabilities. Watch the video below to see a Dodge Daytona being put out of its misery!

Gummy Bears + Chandelier = Yum

I LOVE gummy bears. It's no secret that the gummiest of all bears are my vice. YaYa Chou created this delectable chandelier and it looks awesome. Great design, great concept, great food. Nice job YaYa. I just hope you used Black Forest gummy bears, the best of all. Saw this on Gizmodo.
For more YaYa Chou gummy sculptures, Click Here. Frankly, the chandelier is the least creapy looking of all of YaYa's sculptures but I'll let you decide for yourself.

Wow, what can I say. Coolest bandages ever. Check out more fine examples at Perpetual Kid.

This is pretty cool. The door opens to fit your exact size and shape. It looks like they still have a ways to go to make it practical, but still a great idea for people that have too much money to spend.

So, last year the Mullet brothers (Tony and Brian) lead an effort to sponsor a Nascar Team for the entire 2006 season. Tony and Brian Mullet, in Nascar, too perfect.

I have always been a big fan of Fossil, especially the S+arck watches. I have one his original Fossil designs. I just saw this new S+tarck design today. It's called Veiled which is appropriate because it looks like no more than a bracelet but if you look very closely you can see the watch hands. Cool stuff.

One of my other Fossil faves is this one with a hole in the center! Why has this not been thought of before. Amazing.

Are these fire places cool or what? I always like to see new ideas from old products or concepts. These fireplaces are flueles as well so you can mount 'em anywhere. See these and many more at West County Fires.

Ever wondered what a Best Boy or Key Grip is from the movie credits. Here are a few taken from the blog Drivl:
Best Boy—The Best Boy is the 2nd in command of Grip or Gaff teams. Kind of like answering a question with a question I suppose, since you're probably now wondering what the Grip and Gaff teams are-we'll get to that. Let it be noted that Best Boys are not always, in fact, boys.
Key Grip—Not to be confused with Kung Fu Grip which is what makes GI Joe so badass. The Key Grip is the grand high pubah of the Grip team. Grips, in general are responsible for moving stuff around. If something needs to be picked-up (grabbed/gripped) and moved somewhere, it's a grip that does it. For instance, the Dolly Grip is the dude (more than one usually) responsible for pushing the camera dolly.

I like to look at maps. These are absolutely amazing. Bugaboo makes fancy strollers for babies and has commisioned designers and artists to create walkable day trips in cities all over the world. If you are a designer, you must look at these. You can download PDF's of each map and stare at them forever. So unique. Here is the link.

This may be childish, but still oh so funny!
It takes less than two minutes for it to learn just about any TV on the planet. Once it's locked in you can change the channel, pump up the volume, etc. Get it at "Your Geek Stuff Supplier".

This is a great way to burn off some steam and "destroy" your own website, or someone elses. But don't worry, it won't do any real damage. There are probably 20 or so ways to destroy including tomatoes and meteors (which are demonstrated in the pictures). Other notables are cream pie and scribbling baby! Enjoy it HERE.
We're currently working on a wine label for a new wine brand. Look for the launch of this all-new wine soon!
